lucky me!

don't cry for me, ...i only found the most amazing things at charity stores ever today! how insanely rad is the leather unicorn engraved bag? and the tin? and how about the deer pair rescued from my friends mother's figurine collection throw aways?

my son might be in his first short film, thanks to cape town girl suggesting him to a film maker friend of hers. he's so excited!

chelsea village

i spent some time today becoming aquainted with the sweetest enclave of shops, restaurants and businesses in chelsea village, wynberg. the charming hamlet took it's name and aesthetics from chelsea in london, which was the place i used to visit when i was miserable, broke and cold, as you are when you live in london! i found this lovely guide to our local chelsea on sa-venues. be sure to pop in at the orchid cafe when you're there and check out all the real life stepford and desperate housewives with their twinsets, pearls, highlights and designer handbags from milan. oh my god, i laughed inside, until i remembered they live in R30 000 000 estates in bishopscourt. the coffee was brilliant and so was my 'desperate housewife' snack...i kid you not.

moomah

i discovered this charming children's restaurant and creative space, situated in new york, via one of my favourites blogs, all the mountains. i borrowed some images from moomah's website and from an article about the space on design sponge. moomah offers creative classes and activities as well as healthy food for children which is something we are still waiting to see on offer here in south africa, where parents are given a choice of feeding their children burgers or fish fingers and chips, no matter how swanky the restaurant is. i mean, who actually feeds their children fries/chips at home? moomah offers children a healthy experience in dining with dishes such as whole wheat pancakes, whole grain waffles and fresh fruit always on offer.

no lazy sundays

did you have a good weekend? the highlight of mine was walking for 3 hours with friends and all our dogs on a stunning 'winter's' day, then having lunch looking out onto the tranquil waters of the yacht basin in simonstown. i promised to take my son ice-skating after and even though every muscle in my body aches today, it feels good. today is another perfect day in the mother city and i'm going to grab it with both hands. have a great day!

summer folklore

my friend and i are hunting down some fabric today for the first samples of the summer folklore fashion range, right after i grab breakfast and go for a stroll on the beach. it's a gorgeous day in cape town, which should inspire us further!

the make lounge

'the make lounge' in london, offers contemporary craft workshops with a stylish, social twist – plus hen events, parties, and corporate gatherings. 'the make lounge' has recently added a retail store with everything a crafty girl could ever want. i know a few people who'd be here everyday! my friends and i have a craft group called 'bitchcraft' where we get together to learn new crafting skills or simply to enjoy a time dedicated purely to crafting. i know we'd love to have a permanent place to attend workshops, do craft and buy all the goodies we need.
